ALA’s Top 10 Banned Books 2000-2009
It’s “Banned Books Week”. Libraries across the country has put up their displays, highlighting some of the most controversial books of all time. The American Library Association releases their list of the top banned books of the previous decade.

3. The Chocolate War, by Robert Cormier
4. And Tango Makes Three, by Justin Richardson/Peter Parnell
5. Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck

7. Scary Stories (series), by Alvin Schwartz
8. His Dark Materials (series), by Philip Pullman

10. The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky
I figured Harry Potter would be on the list, but not at #1! Who’d have guessed so many people were freaked out by wizardry?
